The Green Finance Hub serves as a critical catalyst for mobilizing capital towards sustainable development in Africa and beyond. We recognize that the transition to a green economy requires not just ambition, but robust financial mechanisms that de-risk investments and attract private capital. Our Hub operates at the intersection of finance, policy, research, education, and advisory, translating climate frameworks into finance-ready, evidence-based, and implementable solutions. We work directly with central banks, commercial financial institutions, policymakers, and international development partners to strengthen the enabling environment for green investment. Through applied research, targeted technical assistance, capacity-building programs, and strategic advisory, we support institutions to design, align, and scale financial systems that respond to climate risks, development priorities, and market realities. We provide technical assistance, develop innovative financial instruments, and facilitate structured dialogue to ensure that financial flows are aligned with global climate goals and long-term development pathways.

Projects
At Green Finance Hub, we are designing a portfolio of high-impact green finance initiatives to mobilize capital, de-risk sustainable investments, and accelerate Africa’s transition to a climate-resilient and low-carbon economy. The following flagship projects are currently under development and form part of our medium- to long-term institutional pipeline.
Pan-African Renewable Energy Fund
The Pan-African Renewable Energy Fund is being developed as a dedicated climate finance vehicle aimed at mobilizing and deploying capital into scalable renewable energy and clean technology projects across Africa. The fund is envisioned to support investments in areas such as solar, wind, mini-grids, clean cooking, battery storage, and other climate-smart energy solutions that expand access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable power. During the development phase, Green Finance Hub is focusing on: ● Structuring the fund’s investment thesis and impact framework ● Identifying priority countries and project pipelines ● Engaging potential development partners, financiers, and technical advisors ● Designing governance, risk management, and ESG integration frameworks The fund is intended to play a catalytic role in de-risking renewable energy investments, crowding in private capital, and supporting Africa’s clean energy transition while delivering measurable climate and development impact.
Green Mortgage Market Initiative
The Green Mortgage Market Initiative is being developed to support the growth of climate-smart and energy-efficient housing finance markets in Africa. The initiative aims to work with financial institutions, real estate developers, policymakers, and development partners to design frameworks that promote the uptake of green buildings, low-carbon construction, and affordable sustainable housing. During the development phase, the initiative is focused on: ● Designing green mortgage and green housing finance models ● Developing technical guidance on energy-efficient and climate-resilient housing ● Supporting financial institutions to integrate climate risk and green product innovation ● Exploring mechanisms for incentives, guarantees, and blended finance The long-term goal is to strengthen green housing ecosystems, reduce emissions from the built environment, improve access to sustainable housing, and channel capital toward resilient urban development.
SME Climate Resilience Facility
The SME Climate Resilience Facility is being designed as a targeted financing and technical assistance platform to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in adapting to climate risks, reducing environmental impact, and transitioning to sustainable business models. The facility aims to address the financing and capacity gaps that prevent SMEs from investing in climate-smart technologies, resilient infrastructure, and sustainable operations. During the development phase, Green Finance Hub is working on: ● Designing climate-aligned SME financing frameworks ● Developing resilience, adaptation, and transition support tools ● Structuring technical assistance and advisory components ● Engaging financial institutions, corporate partners, and development agencies The facility is intended to help SMEs strengthen climate resilience, improve long-term sustainability, and contribute to inclusive green economic growth across Africa.

A flagship 8-month global fellowship programme designed to develop the next generation of sustainable finance and climate finance leaders. Open to participants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, the fellowship combines rigorous training with hands-on project work across green finance, ESG, climate policy, and institutional sustainability initiatives
